WHY SHOULD WE LIVE WITH OUR DRAGONS

WE ALL HAVE DRAGONS IN OUR LIVES.  THINGS THAT MAKE US UNIQUE INDIVIDUALS.  SOMETIMES WE HAVE TROUBLE WITH THESE DRAGONS, OUR DIFFERENCES, WE FEEL THAT NO ONE UNDERSTANDS US, LOVES US OR NEEDS US.  LEARNING TO LIVE WITH THESE THINGS THAT MAKE US STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD, WHEN SOMETIMES WE JUST WANT TO FADE INTO THE BACKGROUND IS A DIFFICULT AND SOMETIMES PAINFUL JOURNEY.  WE WOULD LIKE TO HELP WITH THIS AMAZING JOURNEY.

THE DRAGONS IN OUR MIND CAN FIGHT ONE ANOTHER, OR BECOME A WAY FOR US TO BALANCE OURSELVES, CREATE OURSELVES AND LIVE WITH OUR TRUE SELVES

  WHY WE CALL THEM DRAGONS

When Casey was around 10 she took a class in medival culture, living amoung kings, queens, knights and dragons.  She had many projects in this class, including building a castle so large it barely fit into the car to bring home and learning to write in calligraphy, styled in the medival culture.  She had to write a story and present it in this style.  In her story after a battle for the kingdom, my daughter, who has always seen the world through different eyes, ended her story with, "and the dragon lived happily ever after".  Through her eyes we would like to see people learn to live with their dragons, "happily ever after".

WHAT ARE DRAGONS

Our dragons are places in our mind which we fight to accept.  These dragons can be the result of chemical imbalances, abuse (physical, emotional, sexual), tramas, low self esteem, relationship breakups, fights with friends, arguements with parents or just seeing the world through a different set of eyes.

DEALING WITH OUR DRAGONS

Sometimes quiet contemplation and journaling can help us deal with our dragons.  Sometimes finding a soulmate with the same dragons can help make you feel like you are not alone in your stuggle.  Sometimes these dragons are so deep inside you, you must seek outside help, a parent, friend, loved one, clergyperson, psychiatrist, therapist.  Seeking help is a positive step toward learning to live with our dragons and is nothing to be ashamed of.  If you can't conquer your dragons on your own, please ask someone to help.  My Casey had many dragons and she did not realize what an amazing person she actually was, click on the link below to see how others saw her.
